Quantum entanglement in nanomagnetic systems

Karol Szałowski
Department of Solid State Physics, University of Łódź, Poland

The aim of the seminar is to discuss the phenomenon of quantum entanglement in the context of selected magnetic nanosystems. The useful measures of entanglement such as entanglement witness (based on magnetic susceptibility) [1], entanglement of formation and Wootters concurrence [2] will be defined and explained. The above mentioned measures will be discussed and contrasted on the example of calculations performed for two spin-1/2 molecular magnets (clusters): V6 [3] and Cu5. The prediction of emergence of entanglement up to considerably high temperatures will be presented. The influence of the magnetic field will be investigated. The differences between two-particle and multi-particle entanglement will be emphasized.
